This could go to anyone else actually. I'm rather computer stupid as most people know so here goes my question. I have a 27'' HDTV capable of 1080i. I'd like to use that as my computer monitor to play video games. I'm not sure what video card I have(hence I'm asking ghost), and should I use DVI or VGA cable? I'm hoping I can use my TV as a gaming monitor cause I'd love to see it huge.

it is actually fairly easy. Since you have an HDTV(with an HDMI connection I assume), it makes it even easier. You can connect your pc to the tv in multiple different ways, but the best is to stick with a digital signal. That being said, get yourself an old DVI to HDMI cable like this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/15FT-HDMI-MALE-to-DVI-CABLE-HDTV-LCD-PLASMA-PS3-GOLD-15_W0QQitemZ180217257140QQihZ008QQcategoryZ73385QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
then just switch your tv to the appropriate function (like turning it to the right funtion to play your dvd for instance.....video 1, video 2, etc).
Then the most important detail is changing your resolution setting on your PC to match your TV's resolution. I think in your case this would be 1080x1920.....you can google it or look at your tv's user's manual.
Also, you should read your tv's owners manual. Alot of the new digital HDTV's come with a "PC" mode.
so to sum things up...
-buy the cable
-turn on your tv
-change your pc's resolution to match your tv's native resolution
once thing to note is that your graphics card is going to have a tough time running something like cod4 at those resolutions at the highest settings. you will probably end up having to turn your settings down to run at higher fps.
also note that if you have an lcd tv, you will need to set it to a "gaming" mode. This will help speed the response time of the lcd up to help you avoid ghosting.

oh, almost forgot. Nvidia has a cool feature that will automatically detect the best settings for your tv. Just open up your Nvidia graphics card control panel, and look for the video and television options. good stuff.
