Author Topic: COD4 Connection Time Out Error (Read 438 times)

So whenever I try to connect to a server I get "Awaiting connection 1...2...3..." until it times out. I've tried a bunch of fixes from the internet and updated punkbuster manually, nothing has worked. As an act of desperation, I'm turning to you fuckers, anybody got any advice?

it happened to me sometimes to.

u send out a signal and trace it so u can look where it went wrong. then give that information to your isp and tell them to fix it.

tracert... or something it is called and u do it in your start- search menu. maybe someone else can explain this better ...

i did it and my isp solved the problem for me.
turned out that the signal has to go tru several "stations" and one of them wasnt workin correctly.

Yeah Oppy got me to do that and I don't think it showed any problems Jari, it worked when I restarted my computer, so mumpz's suggestion about the modem might be on the money (and Ronin, if you read my opening post carefully it says "I've tried a bunch of fixes from the internet", that's google you fuckstick).

is there someone else that lives near u that plays cod4 and can he connect to the server?

and u have the report that tracert gave you?

I get one like this, it'll connect me, map loads, then says server disconnected right at the end of the map loading bar, and I have to reconnect resulting in rumple telling me I have a dell.

it happens to me too sometimes. But for me just restarting my computer fixes it for me. It usually happens to me once i have been playing a different game for a while.

it happens for me sometimes when im using xfire...i just exit xfire and then its fine
